About the hot air balloon flights
How does a balloon fly?
Hot air balloons fly because of the difference of densities between the air inside and the one outside. These aircrafts can’t be directed however our pilots navigate through the currents of wind located at different altitudes which allows them to go to other places.
At what time are the flights and from where they depart?
All our flights are early in the morning from Volare balloon port and can be divided into 2 turns. In case of saturation of the first flight turn, the second one will be opened and will depart between 1 and 1.5 hours later.
Is the landing in the same departing place?
Hot air balloons can’t be directed, that’s why the landing is made at a different point than the departing one. Our ground crew follows the hot air balloon at all times.
Which is the minimum and maximum age to fly?
The minimum age to fly is 5 years old. There is no maximum age, however it is important the person can stand up unassisted during the entire flight.
Are some physical conditions required to fly?
The maximum weight per person at a normal cost is 110 kg. In the case of going over the weight and extra fee will be considered.
Maximum weight allowed to fly: 150 kg
Pregnant women are NOT allowed to fly
In case of any physical limitation we recommend you to ask your doctor before booking.
How many people fit into one basket?
Our balloons have the capacity from 2 to 16 passengers.
If there are bad weather conditions, what happens?
In case weather conditions are not appropriate for a safe flight operation, you will have the opportunity to reschedule or cancel with no extra fee.
Which are the cancellation policies?
You can cancel or reschedule your flight up to 48 hours before without any penalty. In case of any emergency or situation that prevents your flight it is important to communicate to Volare before your appointment. No showing up to your flight without notice will be considered as “NO SHOW” without refund or the possibility to reschedule. Tickets with promotion and discount are not refundable, but you can reschedule your flight.
Can I fly without booking?
It is important to book at least 24 hours before your flying date. In case you show up at the balloon port without reservation your flight is subject to availability.
